""

Green Trees Care Home is a residential care home in Hadley Wood. They care for adults over 65 including those with dementia. At the time of the assessment the service had 16 residents.

The reason for the assessment was concerns that had been raised to the CQC and Enfield Council. These concerns included, management of the home, medicines management and quality of care.

The people who lived at the service and their relatives all told the inspectors that they were happy with the quality of the care received. However, they also commented that there was lack of 'stimulation' with no activities or outings with the exception of a singer who came once a week. The report stated: "People told us they wanted to do more activities they would find interesting."

Concerns were raised around the lack of staffing in communal areas with the report stating: "We observed, during the morning, staff were not available in the communal area and people were often left for long periods of time.". There were also safety concerns around the distribution of medication with the staff member responsible being repeatedly disturbed on their rounds.

The inspectors noted a lack of detail in Person Centred Plans and Risk Assessments. Risk assessments were in a tick box format with limited information on how to minimise risk.

The service received a rating of 'requires improvement' in all areas except 'Effective' where the service retained a rating of 'Good'.
