Are you eligible for the Covid-19 Spring Booster?

From 22 April until 30 June 2024, the seasonal COVID-19 booster will be available FREE for those who are at greatest risk of becoming seriously ill from the virus.

The COVID-19 spring campaign is here, throughout the scheme NHS Enfield will be offering walk-in clinics, giving more flexibility to where and when residents can have the vaccine.

Those eligible for vaccinations this spring:

  • Adults aged 75 years and over
  • Residents in care homes for older adults
  • Individuals aged 6 months and over who have a weakened immune system

Who is Immunosupressed?

Individuals who have a weakened immune system are people that are considered immunosupressed. Here is a list of conditions that fall under that category and are eligible for the vaccine: 

  • Respiratory diseases (such as COPD, Cystic Fibrosis, Chronic Bronchitis etc)
  • Cardiovascular diseases (such as heart disease, vascular diseases, severe high blood pressure etc)
  • Body Mass Index 40 or above
  • Stroke
  • Dementia
  • Neurological diseases (such as epilepsy, Parkinson's diseases etc)
  • Liver disease
  • Kidney disease
  • Diabetes
  • Living with HIV/AIDs
  • Pregnancy
  • Those who require long-term treatment or medications such as chemotherapy etc

This list does not cover all the criteria. If you are unsure about the eligibility, please see the document down below or contact your GP. 

You do not need to be registered with a GP or the NHS to use walk-in services and do not need to bring any identification. 

  • The national booking system opens on 15 April and a number of walk-in sites will be open across Enfield from 22 April. 
  • No booking is required at walk-in clinics, but you are advised to contact the vaccination site in advance to confirm their opening times.
