Overview

Vaccines are our best defence against the virus alongside effective social distancing, wearing a mask and washing your hands.

The NHS has planned extensively to deliver the largest vaccination programme in our history. This will be a huge task.

Now that we have a vaccine that has been confirmed as safe and effective by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), local services can begin to roll it out to those groups who the independent Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) have decided need it most when the supplies are available.

The NHS is working closely in partnership with local councils in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington.

The Coronavirus vaccines have to go through the same rigorous testing and safety checks that other vaccines go through, before they can be used to help protect us during this pandemic.
