Enfield Residents Guide to Parking at Local Hospitals

Who is exempt from parking charges?
Most hospital car parks charge a fee for parking however there are exceptions for certain groups.
- Disabled people with a valid Blue Badge - Disabled patients and visitors receive free parking for the duration of their attendance at, or visit to, the hospital.
- Frequent outpatient attenders – Free parking should be provided to all outpatients who attend hospital for an appointment at least 3 times within a month and for an overall period of at least 3 months. A ‘month’ is defined as a period of 30 days.
- Parents of sick children staying overnight -The parent of a child in hospital overnight is a parent or guardian of a child or young person, under 18 years of age, who is admitted as an inpatient at hospital overnight. They receive free parking between the hours of 7.30pm and 8.00am while visiting the child. This would apply to a maximum of 2 vehicles.
Travel Costs Scheme
If you're referred to hospital or other NHS premises for specialist NHS treatment or diagnostic tests by a doctor, dentist or another primary care health professional, you may be able to claim a refund of reasonable travel costs under the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS). These costs can include unavoidable parking costs.

Drop-off Zones
Drop-off zones are free parking areas where you can park for a short period of time. They can be used when dropping off a friend of relative who may need some help getting into the hospital.
The amount of time you can stay in these varies depending on the hospital.

Parking at North Middlesex Hospital
The hospital has 3 public car parks and 2 drop off zones
Car parks
- Main car park in Bull Lane
- Multi-storey car park ground floor and level 1 on the westbound approach road (Sterling Way) of the A406 North Circular Road. The ground floor is for electric vehicle charging and disabled visitors with blue badges. Level 1 is for maternity unit visitors only.
- Anti-coagulant blood tests clinic car park
All the car parks at the hospital are ticketless and have an automatic number plate recognition system.
The time you are parked in our car parks is measured in units of one hour. Therefore, parking in our car parks for one-and-a-half hours will count as two hours.
Drop-off zones
North Middlesex has 2 drop-off Zones, where you can park for a maximum of 20-minutes.
- By the maternity entrance
- Just main before the main car park, accessed via Bull Lane.

Parking for Carers at North Middlesex Hospital
North Middlesex Hospital runs a patient passport scheme for those who support vulnerable patients while they are in hospital and visit regularly.
The passport enables carers to visit outside normal visiting hours and to pay £1 a day for parking. It also entitles carers to free drinks while they are on the ward.
Carers of vulnerable patients who haven't been offered a carer's passport by ward staff, can obtain one by speaking to the ward manager.
Carers’ passports are valid for seven days and must be renewed weekly, if the patient is in hospital for longer.

Parking at Chase Farm Hospital
The hospital has 3 public car parks and 1 drop off zone.
Car parks
Chase Farm Hospital has three car parks:
There are three public car parks:
- Multi-storey
- Car Park 2
- Car Park 3
You can pay for your parking time when you arrive, when you leave, or up until midnight on the day of departure.
There are three payment options for the visitor car parks. For all of these you will need to provide your full, correct vehicle registration number.
- Pay at the payment machines via cash or card when you are ready to leave.
- Pay via PayByPhone using the app or PayByPhone website.

Drop-off zone
- There is one free 15-minute drop-off zone located outside the entrance of the hospital and outside the crèche.

Concessionary parking Chase Farm Hospital
Chase Farm offer concessionary parking for:
- patients receiving regular chemotherapy treatment
- patients receiving regular/weekly treatment after four weeks
- long-term inpatients (after four weeks; available to next of kin)
- ICU/neonatal (available to next of kin)
- haemophilia patients
- radiotherapy patients

Until you receive confirmation of the parking charge exemption, you'll still need to pay for parking, unless you're a blue badge holder and have registered your badge on arrival.
