Recent Successes: Blood Pressure Events

The Healthy Hearts Project has successfully collaborated with local community groups and charities in a series of blood pressure events, where Healthwatch provided local residence with the opportunity to have their blood pressure readings taken. We proudly worked in site by site with AgeUK, Edmonton Green library, One2One, the Enfield Asian Womens Association and the Oasis community hub, just to name a few.

During these events, skilled volunteers were on hand to measure blood pressure levels. Additionally, they offered valuable information and advice regarding heart-healthy lifestyle choices, such as balanced diets, regular exercise, and stress reduction techniques.

The impact of these blood pressure events has been significant. Several individuals discovered previously undiagnosed high blood pressure, which could have had severe consequences if left untreated. Through encouragement to speak to their local GP or pharmacist, we hope to have encouraged individuals to act towards improving cardiovascular health.

Future Events: Expanding Horizons

Building on the achievements of the past, the Healthy Hearts Project is looking for people like you, who would like to be a community connector. As a Community Connector, you will have the opportunity to engage with your community, attend events, and have conversations about the importance of regular health check-ups and lifestyle choices.
