At Healthwatch Enfield we are committed to monitoring the performance of our local Accident and Emergency (A&E) Services, namely North Middlesex University Hospital (NMUH) and Barnet Hospital. We are particularly keen to monitor A&E performance in the borough for two reasons:
- To see if there is an impact of Chase Farm Hospital A&E being replaced by an Urgent Care Centre in December 2013 on other A&E services serving Enfield residents.
- To monitor performance at Barnet Hospital A&E and Chase Farm Hospital Urgent Care Centre since the acquisition of Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Hospital Trust (BCFH) by The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFH) on 1st July 2014.
At Healthwatch Enfield we are committed to publishing this data to help local residents assess any impact these changes are having.
Please note that as of July 2015, we are unable to publish weekly A&E data due to changes in NHS England's reporting of A&E data. Following the recommendations from Sir Bruce Keogh’s review of waiting time standards, statistics on A&E attendances and emergency admissions began to be published monthly rather than weekly.
We will continue to publish A&E data on a monthly basis, in line with NHS England's publication dates. More information about monthly A&E data can be found on the NHS England website
